ok, this is what a guy said on the belgrade group:
"I have long been a member of a large group of CS associated for international relations - and there it had become common that people say the most terrible things, various insults and the like without being banned, which seem to be completely arbitrary (usually when someone complains directly to the "exchange") - when a man got unjustfully expelled recently, we have all written and pointed to the mistake to the people in the CS central - but it turned out that they literally didn't bother to re-examine the situation and unban the guy, and the only way for him to get back on the site was to make a new profile..."

Understand you bro. Same story in Iran now. They throw young girls out of the tops of buildings for protesting and execute young boys for being gay.
Better to grasp our world as it is than to persist in delusion, no matter how satisfying and comforting that is. Mass credulity worldwide affects everyone massively.
Vital vaccines are refused in America by religious groups because of fear. These vaccines are only effective if a majority of the population has them. In a way we are collectively punished for the superstition of others.

forwarded links... and thnx for the tip, i shuld have fact-checked bewelcome's claims befor jumping on their bandwagon...
@margus
well, i used to think the same way, but since i had a chance to experience to experience religious madness on the fullest scale for 3 days when the patriarch of the serbian orthodox church died, i've decided not give a single cent to religious sensitivity of any kind.
i mean, it was like a horror movie - all foreign tv channels have been blackscreend (probably because of the fear some of them might have enough courage to quote patriarch's "wonderful" stands on women and atheists), all local tv channels seemed as if they were run by priests, dorm security guards yelled at ppl that "dared" to play music during those days, and ppl were looking down on me just because i seemed happy (and i had every right to be happy. i have filed my final paper the day before, and was just waiting for a professor to grade it to collect my diploma).
that was the country they want us to live in, and i didn't like it at all. i took it as warning what would become of the world if we continue to censor ourself every time we think some of them might get offended....

in my tenure on the interwebs I discovered that all too often its easy enough for people to retreat into the security of false beliefs than the bewildering wonderment of our universe. science long overtook religion in excitement and glory yet no religion has looked and decided "WOW! The universe is so much bigger than our god's said! More elegant and subtle". Instead they get scared and shout "NO NO NO My god is the real god and a little god."
of course i tell the truth. extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. pointing this out makes people upset. there is an imbalance of enquiry and skepticism- mega great tools we possess that will take us to worlds never seen.
I'm already in bewelcome ;) Funny since I met the CouchSurfing devs before in real life and they told me bewelcome isnt OSS. I couldn't find the source. Anyway it might interest you to know that CS is migrating to a public API and then to open source... but very slowly.

Well you do make some point clear really hard way and you know ones freedom to expression is others freedom to not like it and take it as offensive. Specially if you talk about religion and call ppl faggots (even if they are one :D ) :D
Anyway, i will try to give my 2 cents also by writing CS about the situation but you do know you cant express yourself as freely as you like in every part of the net. You should consider some faint-hearted and religiously sensitive people also - just a recommendation :)
(bdw it does piss me off if people make posts like the one you replied... but still, sometimes u need to keep cool and replay a way that they can not ban you or THEY will be the ones who have last word... and we do not want that, do we...). My account has been closed in facebook 2 times and i got it open again (does not matter that they say once it's closed it's gone...) now i still do same thing but a "right way" ;)

btw, if no success, there's bewelcome.org. i'm planing on moving there as soon as the weather gets better since, unlike couchsurfing, it's powered by open source code.

Hello,
A man made a post in the Istanbul group taking about Haiti and God. So I said that he and his type disgusts me and called him a faggot. Rightly so since he was using the deaths of people to prosetylise and promote his fucking beliefs. They banned me from Istanbul group
Then I rejoined a week later to make a post asking about electronic clubs. Got another warning.
Rejoined today to ask about Esperanto groups and they closed my account.
Appeal plz. I hosted 100's of people giving them my house keys, letting people party and lots of people love me. Then some religious god believing bastard closes my CS account. This is a really valuable crutch that I use when moving to new places. I dont have my CS account so I cant contact much people :/
My profile has no negative references. wtf.

We are writing to inform you that your profile with CouchSurfing is now deleted.
Over the last few months we have noted continuous abuse on your side, which has recently escalated by repetitive disrespect for your local CS groups and the members. It was repeatedly asked that the groups' guidelines were respected which resulted in a ban from the group for limited time. This was also not respected (as our records indicate you have joined a particular group you were requested to stir clear from for a certain time) therefore we are now removing your profile due to non-compliance to our requests and general disregard for our Terms of Use (http://www.couchsurfing.org/terms.html ) that all member sign upon creation of their profile.
